饮食在大多数文化中扮演着重要的角色。解放黑奴后,饮食帮助很多人提供了一个文化的连接,形成了一个独特的非洲裔美国人身份,这种身份在塑造美国整体的饮食文化中发挥了作用。


甜点不止是美味,而且是家庭传统的一部分。很常见的一种情况是:一个家庭有一两道甜点食谱是祖传的,有的随着时间而改良,有的严格遵守,但这经常是家里家外以及长辈和年轻一辈之间建立联系的一种方式。

#Embrace Diversity ##Black is Beautiful# Food plays an important role in most cultures. After the emancipation of the slaves, food helped provide many with a cultural link, which contributed to a distinct African American identity. This identity has played a role in shaping the food culture of America as a whole.


Desserts tend to not only be delicious but also a part of family legacies. It is not uncommon for a family to have one or two special dessert recipes that they hand down from generation to generation, sometimes it improves with time, sometimes it is strictly followed, but often it is a way to build connections in and out of the family and between older and younger generations. 


Some popular heirloom dessert recipes include banana pudding, peach cobbler, and Peanut Butter Pie.
