The audience, in particular parents and teachers, are likely to develop concerns and vigilance towards children’s use of electronic devices, and in turn weigh up the benefits and drawbacks of e-books. Most of them will try to avoid the imagination of their children to become “as dead as…dinosaurs”.
例子:
The editor appeals to a sense of fear and insecurity through listing some of the damages that drinking can do to people, such as turning drinkers into “religious fundamentalists” and “end up in a grainy security camera”. It is the intention of the editor to warn the reader of some fatal consequences of drinking, and adds to the feeling of being threatened. Regular drinkers are positioned to re-think about the harm of their habits, and follow the editor’s viewpoints. Non-drinkers would also be concerned about the damage of drinking to public security, and the possibility of falling victim of drinking violence. Thus the message – drinking is ‘demonic’ is successfully passed on
