Dr. Henry Kissinger was a pivotal figure in setting the stage for the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and China.  Dr. Kissinger was the 56th U.S. Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977.  On the 40th Anniversary of the re-establishment of U.S.-China relations, we asked Dr. Kissinger to share his impressions of the days before the re-establishment.  Here’s what he said.
