Larry Watson’s “Montana 1948” highlights what happens in David Hayden’s childhood permanently affects his transition from childhood to adulthood. Innocence and naivety can be contaminated when a child is forced to be involved in the world of adults, and when ugliness is exposed without disguise.
3. 用quote开头
n As Tim Cook recently declared “I'm proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me". This acknowledgement clearly defines Cook’s belonging into the homosexual world, which provides him with a sense of relief and security. While Cook’s bravery and openness is widely commended, it must be realised that his speech also helps himself to unify his public and private persona, and thus tells the public how belonging can facilitate the development of one’s sense of self.
When the “Prison Break” start Wentworth Miller acknowledged his identity as gay, he said “I feel more fully expressed” as he finally unified his private life and his “public persona”. It tells us how a sense of belonging facilitates one’s sense of security and fulfilment.
