We study digital innovation in business andgovernment across the world. The internet and mobile technologies aredrastically changing the ways we create and share information, and openopportunities for new business models, new forms of governance, and new ways forpublic engagement. Managers with the capability to capitalise on new digitaldevelopments are highly sought after in the job market. The MISDI programmeprepares students for key roles in the shaping of digital innovation and in themanagement of the business and social transformation that such innovationunleashes.

The programme involves research led, practicerelevant teaching. Our learning approach places emphasis on theory and criticaldiscussion of academic literature from across a range of scientific fields. Weinclude social theories for understanding the processes of information systemsand innovation and case studies for illustrating issues in particular instancesof management and innovation practice.

Curriculum overview

We are ranked #2 in the world for social science andmanagement, and the MISDI programme is founded in LSE’s tradition foracademic excellence. The curriculum is designed around three core courses, andyou can also customise your programme according to your own interests andcareer goals with a wide choice of optional elective courses in informationsystems, digital innovation, management, and a range of other topics fromleading academic departments across LSE.

One of the compulsory elements of the programme isthe Sprint Week group project(withinthe Innovating Organisational Information Technology compulsory course) inwhich small teams of students engage in a simulation of a real-life technologymanagement consultancy project over one intense week. During this week thegroups will all work on their own innovation, supported by world-classconsultants and by faculty, for a real-world client. This sprint-weekserves the purpose of sharpening the students’ ability to engage in intensegroup work around a real-life case using a variety of techniques. Alumnifrequently point to the sprint week as a highly valuable preparation for theirfuture careers.

You will complete the programme with a 8,000 worddissertation project during the summer, which will enable you to specialisewith in-depth knowledge in your specific area of interest.

还有一点考虑的是，LSE的MISDI不对GMAT做必须要求，当然有的话会 "considered"。而其他商科专业基本需要GMAT且GMAT分数肯定要比较高。当时结合我个人自身情况，GMAT准备时间比较短，一直担心GMAT不能达到满意的水平。

该项目的申请要求如下

✔ 不限专业背景，欢迎将来有志在管理、互联网和创新的申请者。往届招收背景包括商科类、计算机等相关专业背景。

✔ GPA要求upper second class honours degree (2:1)，相当于国内GPA 80%-85%，具体看本科学校而定。

✔ 语言要求为IELTS总分7.0（R 6.5/L 6.5/W 6.0/S 6.0），或TOEFL总分100（R 23/L 22/W 22/S 20）。

✔ 不要求GMAT/GRE，但是提交也会考虑。

✔ 不要求工作经验。

✔ 申请材料包括学术证明、个人陈述（personal statement）、2封学术推荐信、简历（CV）。
