目前，越来越多的英国父母喜欢给孩子取一些独特的名字，例如“Shy 害羞”、“Unity 统一”或“Bean豆子”等等。
就连英国王室也不例外。
据说，乔治小王子还在凯特王妃肚子里时，就一直被夫妇俩称为“our little grape 我们的小葡萄 ”。

近期，凯特王妃在爱尔兰访问期间，也“泄露”了夏洛特公主的小名。
Mummy blogger Laura-Ann, 30, from Belfast, took her two-year-old son George to meet Kate and Prince William on their visit to the city's Windsor Park stadium.
一位同样是妈妈的30岁博主Laura-Ann来自贝尔法斯特，当日她将她两岁的儿子乔治带到温莎公园体育场，去见到此访问的凯特王妃和威廉王子。
Laura-Ann, a part-time estate agent, said after the event: 'So then she asked how old Bertie [her older son] is, and I said he is four and she said "oh he's the same age as Lottie" - she calls her Lottie!

其实，英国王室一直有喊昵称的习惯。

The first two nicknames come from both Prince William and Prince George struggling to say 'Granny' as children.

The third is apparently an affectionate name given to the Queen by Prince Philip.
第三个昵称很显然是一个充满深情的昵称，是由菲利普亲王取给女王的。
昵称cabbage来源于法语 "mon petit chou"，在法语中是“亲爱的”意思。
mon petit chou，直接翻译成英文就是 "my little cabbage."

These two rather blunt nicknames were apparently coined by his wife.

When she was pregnant Kate referred to him as 'our little grape' but the five-year-old is now occasionally known as PG Tips or just 'Tips' after the brand of tea.
当凯特王妃还在怀孕的时候，她就称他为“Our little grape（我们的小葡萄）”，但是这个五岁的小朋友现在偶尔被称作PG Tips或者干脆就是“Tips”。这个昵称的由来是一个茶的品牌。
但小王子似乎不喜欢这个名字。乔治小王子给自己取了个新名字。
据英媒报道，今年1月份他对路人说自己的名字叫“Archie 阿奇”。

Nicknames have followed the 34-year-old throughout his life, and he was dubbed 'Flash' in his wilder days, thought to be a reference to fictional army Lothario Harry Flashman.

Other, more endearing names for Harry include 'Potter', after J K Rowling's boy wizard and 'Gromit', referring to Nick Park's animated canine creation.
