Secretary Pompeo’s Calls with the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Korea and Japan

On January 20, Secretary Pompeo spoke with the Japanese Foreign Minister Kono to discuss next steps on DPRK engagement and to reaffirm both country’s commitment to the final, fully verified denuclearization of the DPRK. On the same day, Secretary Pompeo spoke with Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha. They updated each other on respective U.S. and R.O.K. engagements with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (D.P.R.K.).
