涉嫌学术不端，收到Allegation Letter怎么办？,悉尼甜甜屋微信公众号文章

经常有同学问我们：如果作业找了代写，学校会怎么发现呢？针对这个问题，可以看看我们之前发的文章：

当然，这不是我们今天讨论的话题，今天的重点是——学校已经怀疑你涉嫌学术不端，接下来呢？

接下来你会收到一封Allegation Letter，不管是哪个学校，这种通知一定不是口头的，也许发件人是Noreply，但是你如果真的 did not reply，可能也就没有机会再reply了。

例如，悉尼大学的调查信，大多开门见山：

It is alleged that in Semester XXXX you submitted a Report/Essay/其他形式的作业 for academic credit, in circumstances where you:

1. engaged another individual to complete or contribute to your essay, whether for payment or otherwise; and

2. knowingly presented the work of the individual referred to in paragraph (1) above as your own, with intent to deceive the examiner into believing that the content was your own.

This alleged conduct and any other conduct arising from or connected with this alleged conduct will be the subject of the disciplinary process.

A copy of your 作业 is attached to this letter for your reference.

学校的调查信也是模板，不同的关键词会替换一下。比如作弊的纸条、使用的假的病假条和相似度高的作业都会随信发送。highlight出粉色的部分，是提醒大家：不管付费与否，学校对于代写的判断已经很宽泛了，只要涉及第三方帮助，都是学术不端。

一旦调查确立，会收到非常正式的邮件，比如悉尼大学，会给你发送各种制度、条例，问你承认还是不承认。

The University of Sydney (Student Discipline) Rule 2016 (the ‘Rule’) sets out the process for handling reports of alleged misconduct.

Pursuant to subsection 2.1(1)(a) of the Rule, ‘misconduct’ includes ‘conduct on the part of a student or former student that:

(i) prejudices the good order and government of the University;

(ii) prejudices the good name or academic standing of the University;

(iii) impairs the reasonable freedom of other persons to pursue their studies, research or work at the University, or to participate in the life of the University’.

为了避免你不知道什么是misconduct，学校会列出所有的条例。

‘Misconduct’ also relevantly includes:

a. a breach of the Code of Conduct for Students…’ (the ‘Code of Conduct’); and

b. a breach of the Academic Honesty in Coursework Policy 2015 (the ‘Academic Honesty Policy’).

In accordance with subsection 4.2(2) of the Rule, I have determined that the alleged conduct, if proven, could constitute misconduct.

等你看得头晕脑胀的时候，学校会列出对你可能的处罚：

Likely penalty or range of penalties

Without limitation, the penalty or range of penalties likely to be imposed if you admit the misconduct or if the misconduct is proven are set out as follows:

a. expulsion from the University;

b. expulsion from an award course;

c. exclusion from the University;

d. exclusion from an award course;

e. suspension from the University;

f. suspension from an award course;

g. a fail and result of zero for a unit of study; or

h. a reprimand
