Responsibilities and Duties:
• Liaising with all relevant business and support areas within the company, assisting senior management in developing a culture of compliance and support for good customer outcomes within the company
• Advising and assisting the relevant people responsible for carrying out the functions to be in compliance with the law
• Drafting written reports to the Senior Management and the Board, making recommendations and indicating in particular whether the appropriate remedial measures have been taken in the event of any deficiencies. These reports shall be presented to the Board and discussed during its meetings
• Training and educating the staff of the company on compliance functions, Company’s policies, procedures and controls, and legal compliance
• Developing, designing and re-designing the appropriate procedures of company, so as to prevent and resolve potential conflicts of interest, ensuring that all the procedures regarding Company’s conflict of interest policy are in place
• Establish and monitor procedures to ensure that the PDS is kept up-to-date, that the Disclose register is updated as required and that updated documents are provided to clients
• Establish and monitor procedures and control to ensure that company complies with “fair dealing” obligations under the FMC Act, including that it’s advertising and promotional activities are compliant
Key Requirements:
• Ideally has at least 2-3 years risk and compliance experience in a highly regarded financial institution that offers investment products to the public, preferably derivatives
• BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field
• Strong communication skills enabling the management of internal/external stakeholders and members to positive effect
• Familiarity with industry practice and professional standards as well as proven experience as a Risk and Compliance Officer or Auditor
• High level oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin

Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineer - Mandarin Speaking
Our client are a NZ success story, they are a world leader in the design, manufacture, integration and support of a full range of specialist electro-mechanical industrial equipment. They produce not only stand along equipment but also components integrated into much larger systems. They are predominantly export focused and have been in operation for over 25 years. They have a well-developed and quality product with a well-established supply chain that has supported their ongoing growth.
They have a newly created role within their engineering team that will play a critical role in ensuring the business remains a market leader. The role will be multifaceted and will include drafting and design work, interfacing with manufacturing and also engineering sales support/application engineering.
The drafting and design work is predominantly mechanical including machined and sheetmetal componentry. Experience with this type of work is must. A lot of their products are bespoke and to order so is quite project oriented ensuring that there are always new challenges.
They have a mix of both local assembly and manufacture alongside a well established supply chain for the manufacture of a large number of their components out of China. Due to this they are looking for engineers that can read and write in Mandarin as they require manufacturing and assembly instructions to be translated.
With a large and growing market for their product in China there will also be the opportunity for travel to China to assist their the business and locally based sales team to secure future contracts. Travel would not only be limited to China as they do supply globally. This aspect of the role would involve interfacing with customers as they work to define the required specification and installation requirements for projects that they are tendering for.
Must haves:
    Relevant tertiary qualification in mechatronics or mechanical engineering
