1. 在still表示“仍然，仍旧”的含义时，它表示的是动作、状态、情形等的延续或反复，通常位于特殊动词之后，实义动词之前，有时也放在句末。如：

He’s still in hospital but out of danger.

He still often works on Sundays.

We could still change our minds.

注意，若用于否定句，通常应放在否定词之前。如：

I still don’t understand what you mean.

When I came back at midnight he still hadn’t finished.

2. 比较一下still 在否定句中它与yet的区别。第一句中，“不懂”这一否定意义还在延续；第二句中，“懂得”这一肯定意义还没开始。

He still doesn’t understand. → 他仍然不懂。

He doesn’t understand yet. → 他还没有弄懂。

3. still 在用来修饰比较级加强语气（可置于比较级之前或之后）时，意为“更加，越发”等。如：

That would be still nicer/nicer still.

He works hard, but she works still harder/harder still.

4. still 有时用来修饰句子，表示让步，可以置于句首，意为“尽管如此，还……”。如：

She is neither pretty nor clever, but still she is loved by everybody.

He treated you badly; still, he’s your brother and you should help him.
