Your new role
This is a fast paced and high volume coordinator role where you'll be working closely with the sales team. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs and servicing of devices, enable hardware and software at Customers' premises to the highest standards. Naturally your ability to react quickly coordinate customer needs with the availability of engineers and accurately log the details to ensure data integrity and the ability accurately Track and Close work orders and react to on the job site problems.
You'll develop and nurture strong relationship with suppliers and conduct pre-delivery inspections prior to delivery to clients.
What you'll need to succeed
The ability to think on your feet, troubleshoot and work accurately in a fast paced and dynamic environment is essential, and experience with technical fields and terminology would be a huge plus! More importantly is your ability to communicate at all levels and drive for excellence in all that you do as well as being able to work autonomously.
To be successful you need to have:
jAt least 2 years of local IT experience
jA valid driver's license
jStrong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills
jMust be legally entitled to work full time in NZ
jIdeally you'll be fluent in English and Mandarin

We are looking for the right candidate to support the Operational Manager of Asian Markets in delivering the finest experience possible to the dramatically increasing number of Chinese guests who visit Mt. John University Observatory, Cowan’s Observatory, and the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark-Sky Reserve.
The successful candidate will be a confident public speaker, quite articulate, and must be completely proficient in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, and English. We are looking for someone who has past experience in catering for and conducting large groups, particularly multicultural groups. Astronomical awareness and knowledge is highly beneficial. Duties include operating professional telescopes, using powerful lasers, freely designing and delivering entertaining and informative interpretations of the Southern Hemisphere’s night sky, while being an integral, valued contributor to any new business developments. In addition to night-time duties you will also from time to time be an active participant in day-time tours of the observatory. The successful candidate for this position should have a tertiary education in some field of science and ideally possess knowledge about the Mackenzie Region / Dark Sky Reserve. Astronomical awareness and knowledge is required. We’re interested in pinpointing the person who can most effectively educate, entertain, and inspire our mix of international and local guests through many different mediums.
