Job Description

Our client a prestigious US Asset Manager based in the West End is looking for a Mandarin speaking EM High Yield Credit Analyst with experience in investing in the high yield and leveraged loan market to cover specific industries as a sector specialist.

Responsabilites

• Carry out fundamental credit analysis of bond and loan issuers in assigned sector coverage within EM High Yield: Cable / Food & Beverage / Services / Consumer Financial / Media / Technology
  

• Cover new primary bond and loan issues within sector universe and throughout secondary life cycle focusing on analysing results, news flow, changes in market dynamics and maintaining financial models with projections and sensitivity analysis
  

• Analyse bond indentures and loan agreements to understand covenant and legal protections, as well as borrower flexibility which could impact the credit fundamentals or debt instrument pricing
  Form opinion on fundamental credit quality of bond and loan issuers within coverage universe and primary issues to determine whether the debt instrument in question is an investable proposition
  Carry out relative value analysis of bonds and loans within coverage universe and primary, evaluating whether spreads and expected return of relevant debt instruments are commensurate with levels of risk
  

• Actively make Buy / Hold / Sell recommendations with Overweight / Market weight/ Underweight positioning targets in funds. Communicate recommendations effectively to portfolio managers and relevant team members
  

• Maintain productive relationships with the sell-side and management teams to enable good access to research, public information, conferences, investor days and primary issuance 

Qaualifcations

• Mandarin Speaker

• Bachelor's Degree (MBA and/or CFA preferred but not required)
  

• Experience in the high yield market
  

• A record of superior investment performance and strong decision making skills
  

• An ability to identify and develop investment opportunities in a timely manner
  

• An ability to review and analyze bond indentures and credit agreements
  

• Proficiency with Excel and Bloomberg
