The role and key focus of the IT Training SME is to act as the key advisor on the best methods to deliver training for new IT services within Freshfields.
The IT Training SME will work as the main conduit between IT change programs and the wider Freshfields L&D function to advise and define the most effective methods of training for any specific program or technology.
The key responsibilities of the role are to ensure the delivery of quality training to the firms requirements providing our customers with the skills necessary to perform their role. This will be completed through active engagement of IT program and L&D team members to define and advise on training requirements and strategy.
- Provide knowledge and skill across new programs and projects, and track effort as instructed
- Design, maintain and implement high quality training content
- Actively maintain knowledge of new developments within IT Training delivery and information delivery, making suggestions for possible adoption
- Provide oversight for all data relating to training and services provided, including project time estimates and actual statistics
- Actively contribute ideas for service improvement including new courses, client initiatives, innovations using the latest technologies and continuous improvement of documented processes
- Create, maintain and update all documentation (including online), or other media, to support courses delivered and/or to promote self-sufficiency, and support improvement and best practice programs and projects
- Designing, maintaining and implementing high quality training courses
- Identify training needs and tailor to the demands of the appropriate department, region and service being trained
- Support training projects and ensuring given tasks and timescales are met and the work product is delivered in an accurate way
- Produce reports to the IT leadership team on a monthly basis
Please note travelling to other offices in the network may be required from time to time.
- Proven track record in training development, and delivery in a large environment
- Appropriate IT professional qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Good understanding of IT functions and their interactions
- Experience in key Service Management concepts (ITIL foundation certificate desirable)
- Ability to communicate key process and technical aspects of role, and impact on wider function at all levels (analyst, customer, Senior Management)
- Experience in translating business requirements to develop training courses that have measurable results
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to flex tone to suit audience
- Fluent conversational and in an addition to English (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin etc.)
- Experience working in a Legal or professional services environments
- Experience of working within a blended learning environment
- Experience of producing technology rich training and support materials in an innovative way
- Experience of providing support and training on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet devices
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- An understanding of working across cultural boundaries
- The ability to build working relationships with a range of people at all levels
- Proactive approach with a 'can-do' attitude
