About this Job:

The job will require the candidate to work collaboratively across the purchasing and marketing teams within The Rayware Group supporting the purchasing function. Specifically you will work with our nominated Chinese Factories providing development and follow-up liaison within the company’s homeware categories.

Over the course of a year, the Development and Production Liaison exec will work with all the teams internally learning and developing knowledge in production development, quality control and factory management which will provide an excellent base for future promotion and advancement within the team.

Candidate must be amenable and able to occasionally travel internationally.

Responsibilities:

• Key liaison between Key factories and the product and purchasing teams.

• Provide written and verbal communication with the factories including translations covering specification sheets, lead times, QC reports and general problem solving

• Work with Leadership Team and QC Team to assist in the solution for individual production problems.

• Negotiate costing with supporting factories

• Assist with product development project management and production reviews with Chinese based staff and factories

• Evaluate product design packs and review for possible support and explanation in advance of progressing with factory development

• Communicate manufacturing initiatives and local legislation which may impact on production.

Education / Experience:

• Mandarin speaker with experience in business language.

• Degree in business. If the candidate is a Chinese National, a qualification in Business English is essential.

• 2+ years post college work experience

• Understanding of product development and merchandising process

• Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills

• Experience working with Chinese suppliers a plus

• Working Visa for the UK –minimum of 2 years
