这个月，世界各地的人们庆祝女同性恋、男同性恋、双性恋、变性和双性者（LGBTI）的骄傲。在中国，美国外交官与朋友和同事们一起庆祝“骄傲月”，利用这个机会来认可每位社会成员为社会贡献的价值。重要的是，我们社群—所有社群—的每位成员都可以无所顾虑地享有包括表达自由和结社自由在内的基本人权。

关于骄傲月，特里·布兰斯塔德大使要说：“在我的整个公职生涯中，我一直在努力创造一个开放、包容和欢迎的氛围，吸引有才能的人加入到工作中。 本月，当我们庆祝骄傲月时，我为LGBTI群体的成员为推进我们在中国的使命所作出的重要贡献感到骄傲。他们受到重视和尊重，是我们团队不可或缺的组成部分。”

People around the world celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTI) Pride this Month.  Here in China, American diplomats celebrate Pride Month with friends and colleagues, taking advantage of the chance to recognize the value society gains from each member of society. It is important that each member of our community—of all communities—feel free to enjoy basic human rights, including freedom of expression and of association.

Ambassador Terry Branstad has this to say about Pride month, “Throughout my time in public life, I have worked to create an open, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere to attract talented individuals to the workforce.  This month, as we celebrate Pride, I am proud of the important contributions that the members from within the LGBTI community make to advance our mission in China.  They are valued and respected, and constitute an essential part of our team.”
