FLYING is undoubtably intense these day.
With conflict spilling over into full-on fights with alarming frequency lately, some airlines are upping the ante in their bid to keep control of the skies.
These photos show just how far they’re going, delving into the rigorous training regimes that soon-to-be flight attendants have to undergo in China.
Hand-to-hand combat, crawling through muddy trenches, and breaking plates with their bare hands, this is a typical day for those at the Chengdu East Star Airlines Travel College.
They also learn how to subdue out-of-control passengers.
“Once an emergency arises during the flight, the safety officers have to respond and solve the problem immediately,” Gu Yingzhi, the dean of the college, told the China Daily.
“Therefore, training on reaction speed and anti-terrorism capacity is essential.”
The lesson? Be nice to your flight attendant!
