The main focus of the role is the development and implementation of effective marketing strategies to increase student recruitment but the post holder will also support the development and management of partnerships in conjunction with the international partnerships team and support other initiatives aimed at raising the profile of Keele University in these markets.

Work Processes and results:
Recruitment
Leadership of student recruitment activities, producing annual market plans, regular reviewing of activities, results and strategy.
Organisation of and attendance at a range of overseas student recruitment events including exhibitions, school visits, sponsor meetings and working with agent representatives.
Conducting outreach activity such as: training counsellors, counselling prospective students and their families, advising on the application process and entry qualifications, writing and delivering presentations about UKHE and Keele University.
Interviewing applicants and making on the spot admissions decisions, feeding back to the Admissions Team in a timely manner.
To liaise with the Admissions Office to ensure that enquiries and applications are handled promptly
Partnerships– In liaison with the International Partnerships Team
To research potential international partnerships and initiate contact and discussions when overseas.
To provide advice to Schools, Faculties and Research Institutes on partnership development from within a given area of regional expertise.
To support the University, including colleagues in Quality Assurance and the Faculties and Schools, with the relationship management of existing overseas partnerships.
To visit our network of overseas articulation partners, taking responsibility for communications
To advise on new sources of students funding, specifically externally sponsored students.
Marketing
Responsibility for the production of appropriate collateral (print and electronic) and liaison with the appointed agency to keep the website up to date
To manage the University’s social media presence
Working with the Alumni Office to develop effective networks with international alumni to support recruitment objectives and profile raising activities more generally.
Keeping up to date with developments in the HE sector and relevant overseas markets, constantly looking for new markets and business opportunities.
Undertake market research including statistical analysis of sector wide data and Keele historic trends.
Where required, provide marketing support to the BFSU Joint Programme
Relationship Management
To stay in regular contact with your line manager in Keele and feedback market intelligence and details of work undertaken
To work with academic departments to give advice and support in regard to their international marketing and recruitment strategies and activities,including course development relevant to overseas markets
To host and coordinate inward visits to the region involving academic departments and the VC’s office
To draw upon interpersonal skills to influence and build strong relationships with potential partners, scholarship bodies and other key stakeholders.
To contribute to the development of regular student communications and other conversion activities including applicant e-newsletters and social media
To liaise with officials and VIP’s from markets including Ministers, Education Attaché and scholarship bodies
To network with senior international staff at competitor institutions to stay in tune with new market developments and competitor activities
Financial Management
To manage the budget for the region
Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected by the International Recruitment Manager
People Management
To appoint and line manage effectively any casual workers necessary to support your work
Qualifications/ Education/ Training :
A degree, orequivalent extensive experience in the area of higher education marketing
Experience Required:
Experience working within international student recruitment or marketing
Experience of significant overseas travel for business purposes
Budget management experience
Management of relationships with overseas partners
Experience of working with or in China
Experience of producing marketing collateral
Experience of working to target
