MORE than 70 per cent of apartments have been snapped up in the first sales release at a new Woolloongabba residential project.

The first building in the $600 million South City Square development, by Pellicano and Perri Projects, has recorded more than $40 million in sales.

Pellicano Queensland development manager Michael Kent said the location, quality of apartments and overall masterplan appealed to a mix of owner-occupiers and investors.

“South City Square is situated just 2km from the CBD with major employment hubs such as the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals and all of Brisbane’s major university campuses within easy reach,” he said.

Apartments in stage one include at least one car park and a bike space, with the project also offering visitor parking.

The tower was designed by DBI Design in collaboration with Woods Bagot – the team behind the project masterplan and retail design.

The building has a mix of 118 one, two and three-bedroom apartments over 14 storeys plus street-level retail.

Project plans include a supermarket, cinema, childcare centre and boutique hotel.

Apartments are priced from $345,000.
