THE mega-mansion on Brighton’s exclusive beachfront that listed with a whopping $18 million-plus asking price has sold.

Agent Ian Jackson, of Kay & Burton, Bayside, could not disclose the sale price but said it was “in line” with expectations.

The four-storey, 2000sq m house was snapped up within four weeks of hitting the market.

The property is packed with luxury features, including a 12-car garage, billiard room, cinema, gym and wine cellar with lounge area.

It was once owned by former St Kilda Football Club president Rod Butterss.

The sale is a contender for a new Brighton record, which was set at $18 million by the sale of 12 Moule Ave last year.

It was a hot weekend for property across Melbourne, with 77.5 per cent of auctions selling, according to preliminary figures from CoreLogic RP Data.

Suburbs in the city’s south-east and outer-east notched the best results, with sales at nine in 10 auctions.

A basic three-bedroom house in Burwood was one of the standout sales, fetching $2.616 million under the hammer.

The 1468sq m block at 8 Edwards St is primed for redevelopment, with permits to build four townhouses.

A converted warehouse in Brunswick hit $1.9 million at one of the top auctions in the northern suburbs.

The 600sq m property at 10-12 Collier Cres included two buildings — a five-bedroom residence and separate two-storey studio.
