The City of Boston has adopted a new Rental Registration ordinance. The new ordinance is requiring all rental properties to be registered with the City of Boston unless it is an owner occupied unit. There is a #25 fee per unit to register and $15 fee per unit to renew your registration on an annual basis. Owners have until October 30th to register their units or a $300 per month fine will be assessed by the City of Boston. In addition to being registered with the City, all rental units will be required to be inspected once every five years. Below is a link to the City of Boston website regarding the new ordinance:
