Hear from two real estate professionals share their expertise on how to invest in real estate private equity.

Speaker: David Lubin & Christie Xie


Speaker 1: David has many years of real estate private equity, investment banking and strategy consulting experience. He is currently Founder and Managing Director at Clairmont Group, a real estate private equity company in New York. He has worked at large real estate investment companies such as MetLife, Ares Management and C-III Capital Partners. His experience includes investments in core, value-add, opportunistic, distressed real estate, note purchases, fund investments, and co-investments across all major asset classes including: multifamily, hospitality, office, industrial, retail, senior living and real estate operating companies. He has invested in over $1 billion of real estate and real estate operating platforms over his career. David has worked as a real estate investment banker at BMO Capital Markets. At BMO, he was involved in over $3.6 billion in capital raising and advisory engagements including a $1.6 billion IPO of Douglass Emmett REIT. David holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University.


Speaker 2: Christie has a combination of finance and real estate background. She started investing into real estate since 2008 where she saw a strong opportunity emerge in the market. Her investment portfolio consists of various residential properties throughout the Boston area. Her experience includes acquisition and disposition of income properties, short term flips with value add renovations, and new construction residential projects. In 2013, Christie became the Founder and Principal of Nuage Investment Realty, a real estate consulting, brokerage and property management company based in Boston to help individuals and institutional clients with real estate investments. In two years, she completed over $25 million in sales volume. Her previous work experience include Fidelity Investments and Morgan Stanley where she worked in the Private Wealth Management group and overseen assets held by high net worth clients. Christie is a Certified Financial Planner and Series 7 licensed. She holds a Master's Degree in Taxation from Bentley University and a Bachelors's Degree in Business Management from Babson College.
