The Park Avenue apartment that was a childhood home of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is on the market for $44 million.

The art deco-style building at 740 Park Avenue, dubbed the "world's richest apartment building," was developed by the former first lady’s grandfather in 1929. Jacqueline Bouvier moved in with her family as a toddler in 1931, living there until she was about 9.

Hedge fund investor David Ganek and his wife, a novelist, are selling the sixth- and seventh-floor apartment after an insider-trading scandal at Ganek’s firm, the New York Post reported. They're headed for a $28 million unit in the renovated Puck Building down in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, according to the New York Observer.

The sixth-floor marble entry to the apartment has an elegant staircase, and the entertaining floor houses a library and living room facing Park Avenue.

Upstairs, there is an expansive master suite with 2 marble bathrooms and dressing rooms, plus 3 other bedrooms with en-suite baths.
