▷什么是滑铁卢大学国际数学竞赛？

滑铁卢大学（Waterloo）拥有加拿大唯一的数学学院，也是全球最大的数学、统计学、计算机科学等学科教学中心。加拿大国际数学挑战赛是加拿大官方数学竞赛，也是加拿大奥林匹克数学竞赛的选拔赛，由设立于Waterloo大学数学系的加拿大数学与计算机教育中心(CEMC)举办的, 也被称为Waterloo国际数学竞赛。该项竞赛始于1963年, 迄今已有45年的历史，是加拿大顶级的数学竞赛，被称为加拿大的数学“托福”。

▷滑铁卢数学竞赛有什么意义？

参加waterloo系列数学竞赛比赛的经历和成绩均被加拿大等国家的多所高等学校认可，其中数学竞赛其中凯莱（Cayley）数学竞赛和费尔马（Fermat）数学竞赛的全球前三十名左右的获胜者将受到特别邀请参加滑铁卢大学的数学活动。滑铁卢大学从中确定一部分学生授予全额奖学金并录取。

经过上学期长时间的竞赛准备与辅导工作，我校中学部于2016年2月25日上午9:00-10:00在校图书馆进行了本年度滑铁卢大学CEMC主办的数学竞赛。本次数学竞赛包含Pascal，Cayley，Fermat三项，各年级报名参加的同学众多。经过一个小时的奋笔疾书，试卷已经顺利完成并寄出。每位学生都争分夺秒的认真答题，让我们一起来期待孩子们出色的成绩。

After a long time preparation and counseling work of last semester, this year's CEMC math competition of middle school students was held in our school library on February 25th, 2016. The math competition includes Pascal, Cayley, Fermat especially for each grade students and our students showed an extremely active attitude all the time. After an hour work, the examination paper has been successfully completed and delivered. They all had a wonderful performance and we are looking forward to their excellent grades.

The CEMC develops and administers many internationally recognized contests to help to inspire the next generation of students to develop an interest in and love for mathematics and computer science. Interested students should ask their math teachers about these contests.
