The company is a rapidly growing logistic firmbased in the city of London. We provide professional goods transports andstorage services to both individual and company clients. As thenumber of our clients is increasing and business is developingin a very fast pace, we are looking for a highly capable andprofessional Transport Manager to join our London team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage, andevaluate the operations and budget of transportation departments ortransportation companies
Develop key performance indicators to measurethe effectiveness of the transportation operations.
Direct the activities of staff in relation totransportation operations including dispatching, routing, and trackingtransportation vehicles
Plan, organize and manage the work ofsubordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a mannerconsistent with organizational requirements.
Monitor operations to ensure that staff memberscomply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, unioncontracts, and government regulations.
Implement and development transportationoperation policies, procedures, goals and objectives as well as in chargeof personnel activities and schedules, and they oversee transport coordinationand routing.
Direct and manage corporate governance andregulatory compliance procedures related to transportation activities
Research the fastest and cheapest transportmethods and securing contracts with customers or transportation providers basedon that research. Prepare budgets and developing safety procedures, as well asmake sure that shipping documents are properly prepared.
Promote safe work activities by conductingsafety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individualstaff members.
Develop criteria, application instructions,procedural manuals, and contracts for federal and state public transportationprograms.
The Candidate:
Diploma degree or above;
At least one year work experience in transportor logistic industry.
Strong communication and people managementskills being able to cultivate strong business relationships on multiplelevels.
Be safety consciouswith a full knowledge of the transport operations and maintenance and be detailconscious with regards to the vehicles themselves and route planning.
Familiar with both Chinese and UK transportoptions, legal issues, government regulations, and safety procedures.
Familiar with knowledge and understanding of allareas of the supply chain, budgets and financial controls, legislation andrelevant fleet controls.
Be able toefficiently work within a high-volume transport operation.
Be proficient in theuse of Microsoft Office Suite.
Good command of Mandarin is preferable(particularly able to write and speak fluent Mandarin as you are required todeal with our large number of Chinese clients and business partners).
