Scottish Development International (SDI) helps foreign companies invest and thrive in Scotland, and local enterprises make the most of international trade and global markets.

As part of the High Growth Markets Unit, you’ll be a key link between SDI and Chinese businesses looking to invest in Scotland.

Whether that’s through large-scale events, seminars, or one-to-one meetings, you’ll help us to identify companies who could become potential investors.

You’ll then work with colleagues across the Scottish Enterprise network and other stakeholders, such as local authorities, to help us devise an appropriate proposal for these companies.

You’ll also work with colleagues in Marketing to make sure our propositions and communications remain relevant for the Chinese market.

You can be based in any Scottish Enterprise office in Scotland; you’ll need to travel to London frequently and abroad occasionally.

An expert in Chinese markets, you’ll know the ins and outs of doing business there. You’ll have direct experience of how Chinese companies work, from legal considerations through to local customs.

Building productive working relationships with Scottish and Chinese businesses will be essential, so you’ll know how to maintain an effective network of contacts.

You’ll be able to speak, write and read in Mandarin. You’ll also be a confident communicator and presenter, with well-developed influencing and negotiation skills.
