Founded in 2013 by a team of architects and designers with a professional and creative network across China, China Design Centre is a UK based company promoting exchanges of UK and Chinese design talents and technical expertise, and facilitating the collaboration between UK and China in the sectors of urbanism, architecture design, product design and art & craft.

China Design Centre is currently organising a series of knowledge exchange events in the areas of sustainable towns and urban regeneration, to help Chinese decision-makers, developers and architects to learn from UK's expertise. We are also developing research and consultancy services to give strategic advice on urbanisation and town development to Chinese clients.

As our urbanism and architecture sector is expanding rapidly, we are seeking for talented urbanism project manager to join our London based team. Your main roles will be:

·Keeping abreast of the developments in the subjects of town planning, urban design, urban regeneration, town management and architecture in both UK and China

·Organising conferences and talks in our London venue for knowledge exchange between the UK and China in the areas of urbanism and architecture

·Curating and managing learning trips and study workshops for Chinese planners, architects, developers and decision-makers to learn from UK’s cities, towns and architecture

·Carrying out research and consultancy projects for Chinese clients by engaging the UK expertise

·Communicating with relevant Chinese organisations, i.e. government organisations, developers and planning and design institutes, to identify their technical requirement and subsequent learning and collaboration opportunities within the UK

Essential

·Degree level education in planning, urban design or architecture is essential

·Minimum 5-year working experience in the industry

·Native level or fluency in both English and Mandarin including reading and writing

·Excellent experience in managing Chinese masterplanning and urban design projects

·Excellent communication skills ---be able to identify the knowledge exchange themes from both China and the UK, and able to translate and facilitate the discussions in the events

·A thorough first-hand knowledge of Chinese culture as well as a familiarity with the Chinese business environment in order to ensure that relationship with Chinese clients can be effectively nurtured

·High proficiency in the use of graphic and drawing softwares including AutoCAD, Adobe products and Sketchup

·Master degree level education in related field

·Previous experience of cooperation with related professional UK organisations

·Existing network of Chinese clients and partners in the industry

·Demonstrable experience of dealing with high profile clients
