每年这个时候网上会出现很多名人的毕业致辞，

准毕业生们都被这些毕业演讲激励得对未来充满斗志，

下面东方哥就给大家分享一段来自美国首席大法官约翰·罗伯茨(John G. Roberts Jr)在他16岁儿子的中学毕业礼上的演讲致辞，

当中的惊人的言论更是在网络上掀起一波热潮，

但他是出何原因说出如此反常的祝愿呢？

我们先看看其中一部分的演讲，

I hope you will be treated unfairly, so that you will come to know the value of justice. I hope that you will suffer betrayal because that will teach you the importance of loyalty. Sorry to say, but I hope you will be lonely from time to time so that you don’t take friends for granted.

我希望你们被不公平对待，如此你们才知道公平正义的重要。我希望你们遭遇背叛，如此才知道忠诚的重要性。很抱歉要这么说，但我希望你们有时感到孤单，这样才不会把朋友当作理所当然。

I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time, so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.

''我希望你们时不时遭遇不幸，如此才能意识到机率和运气在人生中扮演的角色，了解成功不是完全你所应得的，而他人的失败也不是他们所应得的结果。''

And when you lose, as you will from time to time, I hope every now and then, your opponent will gloat over your failure. It is a way for you to understand the importance of sportsmanship.

“当你失败的时候，时不时地，我希望你的对手会因为你的失败而幸灾乐祸，唯有如此才能让你意识到有风度的竞争精神之重要。”

I hope you’ll be ignored so you know the importance of listening to others, and I hope you will have just enough pain to learn compassion.

“我祝福你会被忽视，唯有如此你才会意识到倾听他人的重要性。我祝福你遭受切肤之痛，唯有如此才能让你感同身受，从而对别人有同情的理解。”

Whether I wish these things or not, they’re going to happen. And whether you benefit from them or not will depend upon your ability to see the message in your misfortunes.

“无论我说不说这些祝福，他们都将在你们的生命中出现。而你能否从中获益，取决于你是否能从你的不幸中领悟到想要传递给你的信息。”
