We are looking for a skilled engineer to join our Brisbane data development team and help to build our next-generation data platform and the event-driven streaming data pipelines that power our market-leading products. 

Your role

• Honing your development skills, including best practices on code management, test-driven design, continuous integration and continuous delivery

• Taking a data-driven approach to designing and implementing solutions for high-volume, low-latency, high-value data processes that operate across the organisation;

• Utilising dev-ops best practices to automate and scale your solutions

• Integrating real-time monitoring to gain insight on performance, throughput and to highlight operational issues

• Contributing to the team and building a reputation for being a go-to expert on data pipelines, streaming, event-sourcing processes and technologies.

Your skills

• Modern development experience in one or more of Java 8, Python, Ruby, Javascript, Kotlin, Clojure or Scala and associated frameworks (Spring, Spark, Django, etc)

• Test-driven experience (unit tests, integration tests)

• API development experience (REST)

• Relational database skills (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite) – you can query, join, aggregate and filter

• No-SQL skills (Mongo, ElasticSearch, Solr, Cassandra, Gun, CouchDB, PostgreSQL+JSON)

• Source control - experience with source code control lifecycles, branching, merging and cutting releases (git, mercurial, cvs, svn)

• Dev-ops experience (AWS, Azure, Google; scripting server build up/tear down, service discovery methods (Zookeeper, Consul)
