Some people believe famous people's support towards international aids organizations draw the attentions to problems.Others think celebrities make the problems less important.Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Throughout the world, many organisations and individuals put in great effort give aid to disadvantaged people. While celebrities can help bring attention to charitable causes, others have argued that such advocacy can pull attention away from the real issue. Personally, I think charitable organisations need to use celebrity campaigns to their advantage, despite risks of potential backlash.
On one hand, celebrity involvement might mislead people into thinking the issue is already being addressed. When famous people get involved, global issues and the efforts to address them, can attract the general public's attention. Seeing that type of celebrity involvement may create a mentality that someone else will handle it, meaning ordinary people may not feel a responsibility or obligation to help out. For instance, it is common for professional athletes to set up sports camps for disadvantaged children, with the 'NBA Cares' program being a prime example, but seeing such high-level athletes involved makes me question what, if anything, I could contribute.
Regardless, celebrities can greatly increase the spread of awareness on an issue. Given that famous people often have the ability to share their views with millions of people across the globe, important issues can certainly gain support through celebrity advocacy. Most people have heard of the ‘ice bucket challenge’, where many celebrities helped to spread awareness on fighting ALS through posting videos of people dumping ice water over themselves.
Personally, the potential benefits are well worth the risk associated with celebrity promotion. Advertising companies will often take on celebrity endorsements for marketing purposes; organisations that provide aid should be no different. Those non-profit organisations can drop sponsors in light of a scandal, just like how companies voided sponsorship agreements with Tiger Woods in the aftermath of his scandal.
至此,文章题目discuss both views and give your opinion才算完成。)
In conclusion, I think charitable organizations need to use every effort to raise resources they can, which includes celebrity advocacy, knowing full well that the actions of a famous spokesman could very well cause harm.
