Jen Lue是一位美国作家,她的小说和非小说类作品围绕种族,家族历史和她华裔美国人身份的多方面问题展开。 Jen出生于美国,父母来自浙江省。Jen经常在各种经历之间切换:了解父母的家乡文化和华人在美国的历史的经历以及在一个种族主义社会中被视为纯正美国人的经历。请加入北京美国中心,Jen将通过她在中国和美国的家族历史分享她作为第二代华裔美国人的个人经历。她还将分享一个新兴作家的成长道路以及最近的美国华裔文学所特有的主题和关注点,并阅读参加北京红门画廊驻地项目时创作的新的非小说类作品。

 

活动用英文进行,配有同声传译。

 

Jen Lueis an American writer whose fiction and non-fiction work deals with issuessurrounding race, family history and the multi-faceted aspects of herChinese-American identity. Born in the United States to parents from Zhejiangprovince, Jen toggles between the experience of understanding her parents’ homeculture, the history of Chinese in America, and being seen aswholly American in a racially-charged society. Please join us at theBeijing American Center for a talk where Jen will share her personal experienceas a second-generation Chinese-American through the lens of her family'shistory in both China and the U.S. She will also speak on her path to becomingan emerging writer, the themes and concerns specific to recent Chinese-Americanliterature, and give a reading of new and recent nonfiction work written whilein residence here in Beijing at the Red Gate Gallery. 

 

This program will be conducted in English with simultaneoustranslation into Chinese.

Theprogram will start at 6:30pm and doors will open at 6pm. Please try to arriveat least 10 minutes before the program starts to allow enough time to gothrough security.

Directions:Metro Line 10, Liangmaqiao Station Exit B, walk northeast to the Tian Ze Roadintersection of An Jia Lou Road, north side of the Visas Office.
