More people than ever before travel to other countries now. Why will this happen? Is this a positive development or negative development?

There is no doubt that more and more people are able to travel overseas. This can be attributed to the availability of budget airlines, and is a positive development. 

More and more people are able to travel as multiple budget airlines are making air travel cheaper. In the recent decades, budget airlines have provided tourists with cheaper air tickets to travel all around the world. Air Asia is one such example, and costs significantly less to travel via as compared to more commercial airlines like Qantas. For instance, an air ticket from Melbourne to Malaysia via Qantas can cost $1000 but only costs $600 via Air Asia which has allowed more people to travel overseas. Therefore, due to the affordability of flying to destinations by many budget airlines, more people are able to commute to different countries than ever before.

Greater opportunities to visit other countries is a positive development, as it affords more people the chance to experience different cultures than ever before. This can range fromsampling unique food to exploring historical sites. For instance, greater ability to visit countries like Thailand allows more people to visit its many temples and try specialty Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Tom Yum, and these opportunities were not as readily available as they are now. Hence, the increasing number people who are able to travel to different countries is a positive development.

To reiterate the points above, more people are travelling these days due to budget airlines that are cheaper to travel via, and this has been beneficial to tourists as more are able to experience different cultures.
