In what ways can you improve English?
This is the exactly question Alex asked me last night. I am more than happy to share my experience with you guys. At the current stage, what you need to do is:
1. More practice of your pronunciation: read aloud each word and each passage. Use this link - http://www.abc.net.au/news/programs/transcripts/, where you can listen to news and then study its transcript.
2. Learn as many synonyms as possible, because they can help you understand more easily about what you hear and you read, while they also allow you to use English more easily. For example, beautiful = attractive, pretty, stunning; unhappy = sad, upset, depressed; So, buy a thesaurus dictionary to collect them.
3. Borrow some short stories and novels in the college library, and read for fun. Set a task for you: every two weeks you finish one copy. Keep reading and reading, otherwise you will forget the characters and plots.
4. Again, don't use your phone or computer to look up dictionary. Easy come, easy go. Instead, you need a pocket book for your new vocabulary. 6 times a day to review those new words you meet. 100 words per week.
5. Sentences are more important words, since they give completely what your mean, and increase your ability to output.
Anyway, English learning is just like your daily diets - frequency grows your language ability. Use it and then digest it.
