22/04/2017 Academic Task 2
Some people think that people who decide on a career early and keep to the same job are more likely to get a satisfying career life than those who frequently change jobs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
这道题考的是常见的工作类话题，问题的类型也是比较常考的to what extent do you agree or disagree. 但是这道题的切入点和以往的稍有不同：
具体来说，烤鸭们可以参考以下的写作思路：
认为一直做同一个工作可以获得满意的生活：It could be true that people who realize what they want early and carry on in the job, end up being absolutely satisfied. 可以举例说一生只做一种职业也很快乐的例子。
认为经常换经工作才可以获得满意的生活：In today’s ever-changing times, most people prefer to work in fields that are close to their heart. Frequently changing jobs may be a way of finding the field that resonates with a person’s skills and passion. 烤鸭们可以例举一些例子说明换不同的工作职业可以让人们获得happiness.
烤鸭们要注意给出自己的观点哟。

Some people think that what children watch on television will influence their behaviour. Others think that the time they watch television influences their behaviour most. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
烤鸭们审题时注意区别题干中两个观点的着眼点，一个认为是看电视这个行为，一个是认为看电视的时间长短。讨论两个观点的时候不要把论据混淆在一起哟~
具体来说，烤鸭们可以参考以下的写作思路：
认为电视内容能影响孩子们的行为：TV corrupts our children. 因为孩子们没有很强的明辨是非的能力，所以会不自觉地模仿模仿电视节目中的行为。 If children watch "Happy Tree Friends"， most violent cartoon channel on the world and they would start and think that it would be perfect to be very aggressive and violent. 小伙伴们不妨用这个例子A study from the University of Michigan showed that children who watched violent TV were more inclined to show violent tendencies as adults。
认为过长的看电视时间影响孩子们的行为：如果孩子们模仿大人长时间看电视，也会模仿大人变成coach potatoes and develop obesity. 他们会学着像大人一样躺在沙发上看着电视，减少运动，依赖薯片炸鸡这类高热量的快餐食物。所以说过长的看电视时间不知不自觉就影响了孩子们的饮食和运动行为。
烤鸭们要注意给出自己的观点哟，当然你也可以同意题干中的某一种观点，但是要注意明确说明你同意这一观点哟~

It is sometimes said that university education is wasted by young people, and older people can benefit more from going to university. Do you agree or disagree?
这是一场周四加试的考题。虽然考的是最常见的教育类的问题，但这题也算是17年里面G类考题里面比较绕的一题了。G类的大作文考题一般都比较直接，这道题的难度主要是在Idea的构思上。大家要记得讨论这两个观点，究竟是否wasted by young people，还是说older people can benefit more呢？ 最后要给出自己的观点，究竟是同意还是不同意~

In some parts of the world, it is becoming popular to find out the history of one's own family. Why might people want to do this? Is it a positive or negative development?
会把这道题放在这里，是因为这个考题的方向以前涉及的并不多。为什么我们会想要知道我们家庭的历史？这是一个积极的还是消极的影响？
可以写的Reason有：
Fun to trace back (e.g. whether they are related to any famous people)
Want to know who they are and how their family has changed over a period of time
Positive：
Can help to predict some diseases based on their family history (e.g. type 2 diabetes)
Can help ancestors to find out special talent (e.g. sports)
Negative：
May trigger anxiety (e.g. genetically-inheritable conditions)
Waste time and energy
21/10/2017 Academic Task 2
People spend a lot more money on their appearance because they want to look younger. Why does this happen? Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
这是一道17年10月21日的A类大作文考题，问的是人们越来越关注外表，希望自己保持年轻，为什么会这样呢？你觉得这是一种好的发展还是消极的发展？这是一道mixed题型，不常见，大家一定要记得回答所有的问题哦！
可以考虑的reasons有：
Self-esteem
Investment on himself/herself
积极的影响有：
Boost the economy
Show respects to others
消极的方面可以考虑以下观点:
Waste money
May turn someone down
