Tourism New Zealand is a Crown Entity governed by nine Board members who are appointed by the Minister of Tourism. Our core leadership team, based in Auckland and Wellington has responsibility for the overall leadership and management of the organisation. Offshore, our in-market general managers oversee activity in the 11 international markets we are represented in.
Tourism New Zealand is the organisation responsible for marketing New Zealand to the world as a visitor destination. The major tool we use to do this is the 100% Pure New Zealand marketing campaign, a campaign that has evolved over the past 16 years to make New Zealand one of the world's most well-respected tourism brands. Key Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to support and coordinate the delivery of local partnerships, industry training and product development programmes. 70% of this role will be supporting the Trade Development Manager Southern China and Hong Kong. 30% of this role will be spent supporting the Greater China Trade Team.
COMPETENCIES
PERSON SPECIFICATION
♦Relevant tertiary degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism or related Business Management discipline.
♦Proven experience within project coordination and financial management skills.
♦Proven successful experience in the Greater China outbound travel industry.
♦Able to travel regularly.
♦Demonstrated interest and experience in travel and tourism.
♦Fluent speaker of English, Cantonese and Mandarin and the ability to read and write in Chinese characters and English.
♦Able to demonstrate an ability to organise self and help team to achieve work programme, meet deadlines and manage conflicting deadlines and requirements.
♦Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships.
♦Demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services.
♦Must be able to work legally in China; preference given to candidates with China Mainland citizenship.
