This position is responsible for developing and implementing public relations programs that facilitate effective message dissemination to media and other external stakeholders and that underpin Tourism Australia’s brand positioning and marketing activities in China. This includes putting effective measurements in place to validate the return on investment that these programs deliver.
You will work closely with the representative offices in other Chinese cities, as well as Sydney office to ensure consistency of messaging and that public relations opportunities associated with all China activities are fully leveraged, and that TA’s public relations resources, including agency partners, are managed efficiently and effectively.
General marketing & PR experience (minimum four years)
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills in Chinese and highly developed English language skills in reading/writing, and oral/aural
Excellent understanding of public relations strategy development and activity measurement
Understanding of search leverage public relations
Strong working knowledge of MS Office
Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or other related fields
Good understanding of Australia including Australian tourism products
Good understanding of Web 2.0 including knowledge of online content creation, optimisation, digital marketing techniques and social media
Excellent media networks in China (traditional and non-traditional) and relationship building expertise
Demonstrated experience developing media relationships (traditional & non-traditional)
Experience leveraging PR to achieve consumer awareness and brand preference Supplier management
Ability to think creatively to implement innovative ideas and solutions, while still maintaining a systematic and logical approach to achieving outcomes
Financial management, including budget management experience

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, forward thinking Business Support Officer to join the Shanghai team at Tourism Australia. If you are looking to continue developing your current support skills, then look no further.
The primary focus of this role is to provide operational support to the Business Support Manager, through the maintenance of finance and accounting functions as well as projects.
Reporting to the Business Support Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
Assist the Business Support Manager to provide full support for the Greater China region (incl. Finance & Procurement, Admin, HR, IT)
Assist the Business Support Manager and Sydney Finance team in conducting local financial operations as well as assisting in ensuring that company policies and procedures are being followed by the regional team
Coordinate and centralise service and maintenance calls for office equipment and supplies
Reconciling as appropriate and assisting with management accounting functions
Maintain staff travel and attendance records on a monthly basis
Ensure the smooth day to day running of the office
Work with Regional General Manager, Greater China as a Personal Assistant
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in Office Management and Financial Management system
Highly developed English language skills (reading/writing and oral/aural)
Native Chinese speaker
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
