Global Entrepreneurship Week 2014 - 17th – 23rd November (Week 8)
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship. Each year, it plays a critical role in encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs to consider starting up their own business.
Global Entrepreneurship Week started life in the UK, as Enterprise Week in 2008, and has since grown into a global event that takes place simultaneously in over 140 countries – with 24,000 partner organisations planning over 30,000 activities that directly engage millions of participants every year.
This year GEW takes place between 17th and 23rd November (Week 8), and this year’s theme is ‘Get Connected’.
A number of events are taking place on campus in Week 8, including:
- External speaker sessions
- Talks from alumni and recent graduates
- Start-up launch events
- A ‘PechaKucha' evening – ‘20 Warwick entrepreneurs in 60 minutes’

As an entrepreneurial university, Warwick has provided its students with great platforms to generate great ideas and start their own companies.
Warwick Enterprise Pathway
During Global Entrepreneurship Week, the University will be launching a brand new initiative to support enterprise across campus.
The Warwick Enterprise Pathway is open to students from across the University who would like to share their passion with others, meet like-minded people, build a team or develop an idea - whatever your level of interest or experience in enterprise or entrepreneurship.
- Participate in and lead the process of developing an enterprising idea; from conception to delivery.
- Build a portfolio of transferable skills and participate in a tailored programme of personal development.
- Be part of a team that will harness and celebrate the skills and talents of its members with the support of the Warwick Enterprise Partnership.
- Develop commercial awareness and connect with external partners.
There will be an information session about the Warwick Entreprise Pathway on Monday 17th November at 12.30pm in Social Sciences, Room A0.23
