A fun, dynamic product design and wholesale business seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager with excellent Far East experience to join their exciting business as it continues to develop at break neck pace!

You will work closely with the Design and Product Development Team, managing the process from initial product sourcing through to product completion.

-   Maximising profit margin through effective worldwide sourcing

-   Visiting suitable factories and trade shows in the Far East

-   Managing the relationship with existing factories and sourcing new opportunities

-   Negotiating and managing supplier service level agreements

-   Cost negotiation and working with design / product development team to meet margin targets

-   Sample management

-   Managing the critical path and regularly liaising with design and sales on demand and estimated completion date

-   Ensuring all appropriate product compliance and testing is carried out

-   Ensuring shipments are delivered on time and in full to the relevant port

-   Working closely with a Stock Controller / Junior Product Manager

-   5+ years Far East sourcing and purchasing experience

-   Experience within gift or home would be ideal but not essential

-   Experience working in a strategic purchasing / buying role

-   Experience working in a manufacturing environment

-   Experience of continuous improvement in sourcing KPI’s

-   Technical experience of material & manufacturing / cost

-   Planning and organising skills

-   Strong Negotiation skills

-   Timely decision making skills

-   Ability to multi-task

-   Shipping terms knowledge

-   Written / spoken Mandarin

-   Good understanding of business behaviour

-   Good communication skills with Design team and Sales team

-   Key understanding of design styling and trends
