Our highly capable staff excel at crafting sophisticated and highly responsive portfolios and are well-equipped in stock selection and strategising routes to market.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for onboarding new clients from intermediary relationships as well as acquiring and growing their Chinese speaking client base through sales and marketing activities. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for advising their clients on their wine investment portfolios so it matches their objectives and personal requirements. They will construct portfolios, manage them and provide regular updates. They will also be expected to meet monthly sales targets and new customer acquisition targets as set out by management.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Handling new customer enquiries and leads generated through marketing activities
- On-boarding new clients from intermediary relationships
- Build wine investment portfolios match to their clients’ requirements
- Manage, report and assist their clients in getting the most out of their investment portfolios
- Will be required to travel to mainland China regularly to attend events and client meetings
- Will host clients in our London office and Hong Kong office as well as at events, dinners and tastings
- Keep their client base up to date with the latest offers, releases and reports
- Meet their personal sales targets for new business and existing client business
- Liaise with their sales manager to make sure the most up-to date offers and relevant material is provided to their clients
- Selling fine wine from our list of over £1million of immediately available stock
- Provide presentations to clients in both English and Chinese
- Prepare sales material for clients in Chinese
Key Skills And Experience Required
An experienced fine wine sales person within the Hong Kong and Chinese wine markets. Someone who has a proven track record of building a client base, growing revenues and hitting key sales targets.
- The Sales manager will be familiar with the mainland China market and will have experience in dealing with high net worth individuals
- University educated / graduate degree
- Strong sales ability
- Ability to meet targets and grow sales
- Experience of developing and maintaining a strong client base
- Has worked in fast-paced, dynamic and challenging environments
- Speaks and is proficient in both Mandarin & English (written and spoken)
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- WSET level 3 qualification beneficial not a necessity
- Has experience dealing with high net worth private clients
- Willing to travel to Mainland China regularly
