在准备申请澳洲留学的小伙伴中，常常会看到本科学位后缀的“Honours”，那你明白Honours（荣誉学士学位）到底是什么意思吗？

荣誉学士学位(Honours Degrees)这个词来源于西方，又被翻译成优等生学位，学时一年，主要存在于英国和澳洲两个国家。在中国，荣誉学士和普通学士被统一评称为学士学位。

总的来说，澳洲的荣誉学士学位的含金量还是比较高的，学生在获得荣誉学士后可以选择直接跳级读博士学位。

普通的学士学位(Bachelor degrees)课程通常是经过整体的规划及设计，帮助学生发展其对主修科目的解析能力，并能针对其所学相关知识做衍生应用。

通常学生必须选择主修科目做深入的研读。课程内容是以渐进方式进行，由浅入深的探讨各学习主题，并为今后进行研究课程学习立下根基。 通常申请澳洲大学入学，申请人具备有高中毕业的程度。

荣誉学士学位(Honours Degree)课程除了教授研究原理和方法外，也包含在一个或多个专业层面的知识和技能的贯彻和进一步发展，学生需要提交一个具意义的研究论文或研究专案。

荣誉学士学位是以学生学士课程的成绩表现作为甄选的标准，有时也会要求递交详细的研究大纲作为参考，越顶尖的大学甄选越为严格，但即使在澳洲一般的大学，其荣誉学士的录取标准也高于澳洲最顶级大学的研究生。

荣誉学士竞争尤为激烈，一般仅对本校的本科生开放，对于澳洲外校的本科生名额十分有限，甄选也更为苛刻，一年的在读生总数控制在个位数。

只有成绩优异的毕业生(排名前2%-3%)才有机会入选此荣誉学位，未入选者则被授予普通学士学位。若该学生在此课程结束之前达到相关要求，还可被授予荣誉学位。

荣誉学士学位以分等或分级的形式表示，例如：First Classor Second Class (Upper Division) 一等或二等(高级)。获得一等或二等(高级)荣誉学士学位的优秀毕业生可以直接进入博士学位的课程学习。

需要注意的是，国内本科毕业是不能申请荣誉学士的。在澳洲，攻读荣誉学士学位，学校对于学生的要求会有所不同，例如本科第三年的成绩需要在平均75分以上，并且本科三年不能有挂科记录。

所以，如果有计划申请荣誉学位的学生应提前做好准备。荣誉学士和普通学士虽然只有两个字的差别，却是学校对于学生综合素质的不同等级评价。

荣誉学士课程通常为普通学士课程后再加一年，但有些科系已将其融合在普通学士课程内，甄选上的学生可以在大二或大三开始其荣誉学士课程的学习。

在这额外一年的学习中，学生需完成自身专业科目的深入研究，通常包括四到五门研究性科目和一篇高质量的两万字论文，学习强度比较大。

研究性科目通常由本校最为顶尖的教授小班教学(传说中的开小灶)，内容覆盖学科研究的各种领域，每周动辄几百页的论文阅读量和各种繁重的学术任务也使得荣誉学士课程比较有挑战性。

同时，论文部分也占据了整个荣誉学士学习的三分之一，一般论文的时间跨度是八到十个月。

而荣誉学士成绩由研究性科目成绩和论文共同组成，最终等级划分为：

一等荣誉学士(HonoursI)

二等上荣誉学士(HonoursIIA)

二等下荣誉学士(HonoursIIB)

三等荣誉学士(HonoursIII)

一等荣誉学士通常一届毕业生只有1到2名，有严格的数量控制，因此在澳洲也被视作通往上流社会的金敲门砖。通常想要直接攻读博士学位的同学，必须获得至少二等上荣誉学士。
