Common Idioms
想要真正的融入英语为母语的国家文化,
那么学习一些
鬼佬们常用的idioms
是一种不错的方法!
因为大部分老外
多多少少会用几句这样的俚语,
能听懂,
自然才能继续交流;
能使用,
才能更好的表达自己。
所以,今天
花上5-10分钟的时间,
来学习一下英语中的一些俚语吧!
Over the moon
– To be extremely pleased or happy.
例句: I was over the moon when he asked me to marry him.
大家如果考过雅思或者PTE了,那自然就是非常能体会over the moon的感觉啦!
Once in a blue moon
– happens very rarely.
例句: A student will get a 9 in the IELTS writing test once in a blue moon.
A piece of cake
– Very easy.
例句: Getting a band 6 in the speaking test will be a piece of cake.
无忧小雅哥和悉尼雅思姐都希望,大家成功的那一天,都能说一句a piece of cake就好啦!
A drop in the ocean
– A very small part of something much bigger.
例句: Just learning idioms is a drop in the ocean when it comes to preparing for the speaking test.
Actions speak louder than words
– It is better to actually do something than just talk about it.
例句: Lots of people have great business ideas but do nothing about them. Actions speak louder than words, just do it.
这句话相信大家都会用啦!说起来真的是朗朗上口。行动比空谈更重要哦!

– When you attempted to do something but failed and have to try again.
例句: I got 4.5 in reading! Oh well, back to the drawing board.
Put all your eggs in one basket
– put all your money or effort into one thing.
这个其实挺好理解的啦! 看看字面意思也能猜到大半~

Off the top of my head
– saying something without thinking first.
例句: Off the top of my head, I’d say about 2 or 3.
