6:30 – August 29th, Wednesday, 6:30pm

Police forces protect citizens and investigate crimes. However, police actions cannot go beyond the law. So what can the police do legally when they come to your residence or stop your car? And how does the law protect people from “unreasonable searches or seizures?”  What judicial consequences could an unlawful “search and seizure” lead to? The Department of Justice Resident Legal Advisor Richard Daynes will answer these and more as he introduces you to interesting facts and recent representative cases on “search and seizure” under U.S. law.  The audience will also have a chance to observe and experience an example of how U.S. police conduct searches and seizures.
