8月19日是首个中国医师节！

在美国也有类似的节日，叫国家医师节，是每年的3月30日。这个节日起源于20世纪30年代，当时佐治亚一位医生的太太为自己的丈夫和丈夫的同事们组织了一次午餐，以感谢他们的辛勤工作。在美国，3月30日是重要的一天，因为1842年的这天，乙醚麻醉在美国首次在患者身上使用。1990年，乔治×H×W×布什总统正式将这天定为国家医师节。这一天是为了向医生们致敬—为了他们为患者、他们负责的社区以及整个社会所做的工作。正是他们的辛勤工作和奉献守护着我们所有人—我们和我们的至爱亲朋—的健康。这一天就是要为此对他们表示感谢。

August 19, 2018 marks the firstChinese Doctor’s Day! 

In U.S., there is similar daycalled National Doctor’s Day, which is celebrated annually on March 30th. Theholiday originated in the 1930s when a physician’s wife in Georgia organized alunch for her husband and his fellow doctors to show appreciation for theirhard work.  In the U.S., March 30th is significant because it marks the day in1842 that ether anesthesia was administered to a patient for the first time inthe United States.  National Doctor’s Day was made official in the UnitedStates in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush.  It is a day that honorsphysicians for the work they do for their patients, the communities they workin and for society as a whole. It is their hard work and devotion that keepsall of us healthy and this day thanks them for doing that for us and our lovedones.
