A leading manufacturing company based in Braintree have a new opportunity for a Buyer to join the purchasing department. The Buyer will require previously purchasing experience, sourcing and liaising with Far East Suppliers. The ability to speak fluent Mandarin would be beneficial.

The Buyer Role

• Purchasing technical components and materials from the Far East

• Sourcing from Far Eastern Suppliers

• Responsibility for all purchasing / procurement activities across a particular range of products, focusing on quality, cost (including cost reduction) and supply

• Reporting into the Head of Purchasing

• Purchasing materials / products internationally, from Europ and North America

• Negotiate & manage any supplier contracts as required

• Monitor & develop supply chain performance on delivery, quality & cost

• Keep up to date on market changes that effect supply & price of goods

• Liaise with engineering department

• Understanding previous selling patterns and forecasted forward demand utilizing report systems to ensure stock levels are in line with sales forecasts and maintain

Buyer Requirements

• Previously Purchasing Experience Required

• CIPS would be preferred

• Fluent in Mandarin / Japanese / Cantonese would be highly beneficial

• Experience sourcing from the Far East is beneficial

• Technical Background is highly preferred
