A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Assistant for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Courses to join an expanding company with multiple locations in London. The UK College of English is a member of English UK and the role is based in the – Oxford Street, W1. The candidate must be self-driven, result-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance, the candidate must be credible and comfortable in dealing with a wide variety of people. It is a must that the candidate is reliable, tolerant, and determined; an empathic communicator, keen on new experiences, responsible, accountable and a team-player.
The role includes the planning, implementation and monitoring of advertising campaigns for the recruitment of international EFL students.
- Planning and implementation of student recruitment and marketing strategies with the Head of Marketing / Centre Head and evaluation of performance against agreed targets and timely reporting of that performance
- Work closely with Head of Marketing / Centre Head in formulating any marketing policies for future intakes
- To be responsible for identifying new recruitment markets and channels
- Contact and liaise with agencies from around the world in order to recruit students for full-time EFL courses
- To be involved in the development of PON groups and other funded and non-funded contacts and the acquisition of new clients and agencies
- Building relationships with agents, which could involve organising lunches, dinners or other social occasions, both during and out of office hours depending on the task
- Working with other UKCE staff to develop a distinctive UKCE brand and deciding how the brand can be best communicated to the market
- Ensuring all promotional items (brochures, videos, etc) are attractively designed and put together to show the College in the best light
- Collecting and making effective use of student feedback to develop courses and products and promote the school in the most attractive light
- Developing courses and marketing opportunities alongside the Academic team that are feasible and profitable
- Identifying effective advertising strategies and taking the steps to implement such strategies
- Building up useful and productive relationships within the EFL industry to the benefit of the College
- Organising and participating in fairs (i.e. English UK)
- Making effective use of social media and regular updates and networking
- Providing comprehensive advice and assistance to students on visa-related issues
- Assist prospective students with deciding the right course for them based on their career objective, previous educational background and work experience
- Writing press releases
- Arranging promotional events
- Assessing the results of a marketing campaign
- Assisting the manager in writing reports and analysing data
- Helping to drive online traffic with web-related campaigns
- Organising market research
- Writing online content; blogs
- Communicating with clients on a day to day basis
- CMS management; WordPress based
To assist the Office Administrator with any administrative duties, including:
- Distributing registers
- Inputting data (attendance, class lists, learner profiles, etc)
- Ensuring safe storage of data and maintaining confidentiality
- Taking telephone calls and sending emails as required
- Typing / word processing of letters, minutes, reports, weekly bulletin and other documents, as required by the Senior Administrator
- To liaise with the Academic team to satisfy all stakeholders
- To assist with the general day to day operation of the college
- To be able to multitask and support the reception function as and when needed
- To assist in doing placement tests for students as required
- A Bachelor's Degree level qualification
- Minimum 12 months’ work experience in a busy office environment, ideally EFL industry
- A knowledge of higher education and education services industry in the UK as well as overseas education systems
- A knowledge of eMarketing / social media administration
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to initiate and implement marketing strategies and sales tactics which have made a significant contribution to sustainable business growth
- Italian, French, Mandarin and Spanish speaker or at least one of the three to qualify for the role
- Must be willing to work more hours if required according to the job demands
- Creative and design abilities; an eye for attractive product / design
- An ability to influence and build effective relationships with people
