Black Women are speaking up. Black Women are no longer invisible. Black Women are not afraid to shine. Black Women are unapologetically loving themselves. Black Women are championing their sisters. Black Women are tearing down the oppressive racist and patriarchal system which is enforced upon them. Black Women are Blossoming The Black Blossoms Exhibition celebrates and highlights the voices of Black Women, a group which is often invisible, silenced and oppressed in society. Through film, photography and illustration recent UAL graduates have explored the intersections of gender, race and identity. This exhibition challenges and deconstructs stereotypes in order to re-establish an authentic and inclusive narrative of Black Womanhood. The exhibition has been curated by Education Officer (15-16) and Black Blossoms founder Bee Tajudeen.
