Workshop on: Let's Talk about Grammar!
Whether you love it or you hate it, grammar is an important part of speaking and teaching English. At this week's teacher roundtable, English Language Fellows Jody Garcia Cicek and Shushan Richardson invite you to come and talk about grammar teaching strategies. Some teaching tips and practical activities will be presented. But, they also want to hear from you! Be prepared to discuss techniques that have worked well in your classroom or the reasons why activities will not work for you. Questions are great! Come prepared to ask hard about grammar and teaching grammar.

Trainer Bio
Shushan Richardson is a participant in the English Language Fellow Program, a U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs exchange program. This program brings highly talented American professionals in the field of English language teaching to work in host institutions around the world for a period of 10 months. Shushan is currently hosted by South China Normal University in Guangzhou, China. In addition to undergraduate degrees, Shushan has earned a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate through Huntington University’s Institute for TESOL studies. Her Masters of Education in TESOL is from Huntington University. She has taught children, university students and adult classes in the United States, Ukraine, Georgia, and Lithuania. With a belief that English belongs to the speaker, Shushan strives to empower others to communicate effectively through communicative classroom activities and specific pronunciation instruction.
Jody Garcia Cicek is a participant in the English Language Fellow Program, a U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs exchange program. This program brings highly talented American professionals in the field of English language teaching to work in host institutions around the world for a period of 10 months. Originally from California, she spent 5 years teaching ESL and ESL teacher education at the university level as well as working with refugees in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jody holds two masters degrees in linguistics from Tulane University and the University of Pittsburgh, where she was the K. Leroy Irvis fellow in linguistics. Currently, Jody's research focuses on refugee language education.

Please do NOT wait in the visa applicant line. Please wait in line by the RED sign saying “For ACS services, please enter here.” at the East Gate of the embassy.
