From handbags to microprocessor designs to song lyrics, intellectual propertyrights (IPR) cover a surprising variety of products, ideas, and information.Although politicians and businessmen often discuss IPR protections andviolations, what precisely are they talking about? What does it mean for theaverage consumer? What efforts is the U.S. government taking to ensure thatthis important set of international rules and norms is properly observed? At7:00PM on Thursday, September 20 in Lincoln Hall, an Assistant Attaché from theDepartment of Homeland Security will give a presentation on IPR and provideinsight on how IPR protection works, how it ties into U.S.-China and lawenforcement relations, and, most importantly, why you should care.
