Job Summary
VisitBritain is looking for a PR Executive of Northern Tourism GrowthFund for a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2016 based in China.
Northern Tourism Growth Fund is a governmental funding to supportpromotion of Northern tourism products and change perception of the North inkey markets such as China. The programme includes a wide range of activitiesincluding travel trade activities, airline campaigns, networking events and PRactivities etc.
The project based role will work with wider China MarComm team to leadon press & PR activities under Northern Tourism Growth Fund and assist Project Manager NTGF where necessary to secure on-time delivery of theprogramme.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

1) Deliver Press & PR activity under NTGF in China · Coordinate with relevant UK stakeholders such as Marketing Manchester and Welcome to Yorkshire to invite key online & offline media in China to a familiarization trip to the North of England to generate inspirational coverage of the destinations for key target consumer segments. · Manage media evaluation, downloading coverage from media monitoring agency and uploading to media evaluation agency after media fam. · Run PR briefings to broadcasters and print and digital Chinese journalists presenting the opportunity to visit the North of England on a familiarization trip so that they can showcase the area through their channels and on their platforms. The briefings will consist of desk sides or individual meetings. · Ensure that PR activity is delivered on time and on budget. | 55% |
2) Support delivery of B2B and marketing activities of NTGF programme · Assist Project Manager where necessary, including administrative support, B2B activity, event management and marketing campaigns. | 45% |

Specific to job
· Good understanding of VisitBritain’s role, general business and marketing approach
· Extensive experience, preferably in tourism, PR or a related industry, with a proven track record of successfully working with the media to achieve targets & objectives
· Good planning and administration skills, including financial management and good awareness of corporate governance requirements
· Global perspective and experience of dealing with different cultures
· Influencing & negotiation skills with an ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels - locally and internationally, internally and externally
· Good experience and comprehensive understanding of PR and marketing disciplines, including writing press releases, media briefs, and pitching documents, and an understanding of social media and newer forms of online media (e.g.blogging)
· Educated to university-level standard, preferably with a PR, marketing and/or tourism qualification
· Good knowledge of the North of England is highly desirable
· Fluent written and spoken Mandarin and English
· Flexibility – ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
· Good computer literacy
