Austrade Nanjing office has a vacancy of Business Development Manager.
This position will report to the Trade Commissioner, and will be responsible for delivering client services, developing and promoting business opportunities for Australian companies across a range of sectors in East China (principally Jiangsu and Anhui provinces).

Duties:
Undertake business development activities including ally relationship development and market research to identify opportunities to expand Australian exports to China.
Help Australian businesses capture these opportunities by providing the range of Austrade services that add value to Australian companies
Take a lead role in designing and managing regional strategic promotional activities and sector-specific initiatives under the guidance of the Trade Commissioner.
Coordinate and deliver high quality brand-building and business matching activities such as trade displays, inbound and outbound missions, investor events and market visits, in order to achieve performance targets.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Post and industry team business plans and provide regular feedback on insights, client and customer engagement and emerging opportunities in the region.
Efficiently manage a constantly changing workload covering diverse industry sectors, large numbers of clients/customers, within internally and externally driven timeframes.
Provide administrative support to ensure smooth operation of the Nanjing office and provide mentoring support to the AOPL2 Nanjing-based Business Development Manager.
Effectively utilise internal databases and knowledge management systems to support work practices.
Maintain Austrade standards and policies, including diversity in the workplace, ethical practice and occupational health and safety principles and compliance with audit requirements.
Selection Criteria:
Relevant experience (min.3-4 years) in a business development related role in an international or foreign government organisation, and preferably with existing business networks in Jiangsu and/or Anhui.
Good understanding of the development and future potential of Australian business and the operating environment in China.
Ability to be outcome focused, an innovative problem solver, combined with sound judgment in the context of working for a foreign government organization.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with proven ability to successfully represent Australia and Austrade, and to negotiate and communicate at all levels of government and with other stakeholders.
Proven ability to work under pressure, and to manage conflicting work priorities and deadlines independently with limited supervision.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team across different industry sectors and multiple locations in a performance driven culture.
