Habitat for Humanity the True Winners for Kryton Charity Challenge
18th Dec 2015 Concrete Industry News
But according to the 2015 Kryton Gender Challenge, the Kryton Women came out on top!
Over the 2015 year, Kryton’s Vancouver office, led fearlessly by our Chief Fun Officer, Bonna Banaag, have been participating in small fundraising events throughout the year in an effort to present a big cheque to Habitat for Humanity – Greater Vancouver during the holiday season.
Events such as bake sales, snack sales, themed lunches, and garage sale events really spark a giving mood throughout the Kryton office during the year. To further incite the giving spirit, a gender challenged was introduced, with the men and women competing to see who will raise the most funds. Whichever gender raises the most money throughout the year gets to be serenaded by the losing side at the annual Kryton holiday party.
The Kryton Women have come out on top for the past few years, mostly because (according to the men…) the gentleman of the company believe it too embarrassing to watch the off-key and pitchy bellows that occur whilst the women recite the 12 days of Christmas or Silent night. Instead, as per usual, (again, according to the men…) the men (apparently) push the charitable donations up forcing the gift higher and higher, and relent at the end, sacrificing their egos for the good of the False Creek Yacht Club employees.
This year’s gift of $4566.60 was accepted by Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver Director of Operations/Fund Development Stephani Samaridis, and will go towards building safe and affordable housing to deserving families in the lower mainland. The Kryton Team is looking forward to working with Habitat for Humanity in the New Year on their newest project in Richmond, B.C.
